Gave it a look based on Brian's recommendation and... I have to say... this is the first time in a long time... that I resisted the temptation to sneak off to another tab just to check something or get hooked on the next distraction. I couldn't put it down! I was hooked. I was drawn in. Very nicely written and I appreciate the attention to detail and the names of things in that world.
And thank you for proving to us "jumping frog brains" that the battle can indeed be won! Because of this, I'm going to catch up on all the fiction posts that have been sitting in my inbox. I always make a little promise that I'll get around to them, but non-fiction news based posts keep pouring in and grabbing the frog by the throat! Not anymore. Those are getting whittled down to bare minimum so more fiction can shine through.
My prediction: One day you and Kurt Ryker will have a TV series or movie of some kind. Love the Indiana Jones meets the wild west angle. And the suspense, and historical details. And most of all, the writing. Great stuff as always!
Belated but very happy to get to read this, Frank, the detail and language of this story was on, it was fun, I heard it in the voice of Pedro Pascal's character in the film Prospect, and in the poised tones of characters in the True Grit version with Jeff Bridges. And all these great lines, including "I felt a primal compulsion to cry out, to let bygones be bygones, for at the end of the day, men, when faced with monsters, had an instinctive urge to band together, to forget petty differences."
Thanks for reading, Edward I haven't seen Prospect yet but its been on my list. Ironically, Pascal could totally play Ryker, never thought of him before.

This is what I love to hear! Its a constant battle for attention out there, but it sounds like I won today's battle. Thanks, Tsubion.

Fantastic read, Frank! I really enjoyed this, and a very imaginative take on the actual origins of Bigfoot.
Thanks Brian! Glad you enjoyed.

Very well written, Frank! Well done. I like all the attention to detail. Great!
Thank you, had to do quite a bit of research for this one.
Riveting!

Most excellent. Well-written, sir.
As a refugee from the Southwest, your language describing the cottonwood stands and rock caves was incredibly evocative. Solid, solid piece. Loved it.
I miss the cottonwoods, Zack!
Amazing!
Great work, serious Conan vibes. Love it!
